Building on the success of the Sydney, Nova Scotia, stopover in the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race, Cape Breton Island launched its own racing yacht for the 09-10 Race. The yacht "Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia's Masterpiece" is currently in third place overall, after just winning its second 1st place pennant in the race into San Francisco. The Cape Breton Island yacht is competing against 9 other racing yachts as it covers 35,000 nautical miles in its 10 month circumnavigation of the globe.

Make sure you're in Sydney, Nova Scotia, from June 11-19, 2010 to cheer on the crew when the Clipper fleet arrives at Sydney Harbour. A Clipper Village will be on the waterfront with a full slate of activities for crew members and the general public. (www.capebretonclipper.com)
