Events Nova Scotia worked closely with the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners Hockey Club, along with The Town of Yarmouth, the Municipality of Yarmouth, the Municipality of Argyle, and the Yarmouth Minor Hockey Association to submit the winning bid to host the 2012 World Junior A Hockey Challenge.  The World Junior A Hockey Challenge is an annual international Junior "A" hockey tournament hosted by Hockey Canada. The event features six teams including two Canadian entries along with four international teams. The gold medal game will be broadcast nationally by TSN/RDS, the official broadcasters of Hockey Canada. Over 800 players, coaches, Hockey Canada staff, media, scouts, Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) officials, friends and family will descend upon the region for the event.
