2012 Canada 55+ Games Jeux Canadiens 55+

August 29 - September 1, 2012

January 20, 2012
We recently received a newsy update from the Canada 55+ Games host committee and are sharing some highlights here with you. Looks like Cape Breton is poised to host yet another stellar event this summer:

The website is now up and running and is being updated continually: www.canada55plusgames2012.com.

Interested in volunteering? Complete the volunteer application on-line or drop in to their office for a form. They are seeing a great response so far.

People are beginning to book their rooms. In fact, it looks like there's going to be a large contingent from Yukon coming! Terrific news.

Entertainment is secured, including a “Good Old Kitchen Party” on Thursday, the Blues Merchant will be playing Friday, and Saturday is the “Closing Ceremonies” – a buffet will take place for 1,500 people at the armories, followed by a cultural event at the Big Fiddle.

We loved this final note from Bev, Stephen and Bill:
"Remember: The coffee pot is always on in our office; why not stop by when you get a chance."

Now, that's typical Cape Breton hospitality for you!
